Plant Trees to Protect Streams

Working with Stream-Link Education and John Smucker, FoFC is able to help support stream buffer restoration and protection of our surface and drinking water.  Please join in to help plant.

The next planting date:

  • Where:  Halls Choice Farm, 11258 Crickenberger Rd, New Market, MD 21774
  • When:  September 27th 2-4 pm
  • Where:  long pants, shirt and sturdy shoes.  Bring gloves.
  • Details:  John will flag and augur the holes ahead of time, and the morning of the planting will deliver the  shelters, stakes, mallets and trees (from Scott Key Center where they are grown).  Halls Choice Farm owner, Betsy, will be mowing the site before John comes to auger.  
  • Please RSVP by email to waterwatchers@friendsoffrederickcounty.org to help.  All volunteers will receive a Water Watchers tshirt, so be sure to send your tshirt size when you RSVP.  NO RSVP – NO T-SHIRT.
